Thekla Kellmann,
lives and works in Thuringia. She has been interested in painting since she was a child. Her first
group exhibition was at the age of 13 in Berlin.
Since the birth of her children in 2019, she has systematically expanded her knowledge by attending the New Masters Academy, numerous workshops on nude drawing, basic oil painting courses and drawing courses.
In her work, Thekla Kellmann deals with her role as a woman in a constantly changing society.
She paints women because she deals with her femininity every day and finds a way to be herself and what feelings she can process.
Even as a child, she painted blue people in particularly challenging emotional moments and the motif of the blue woman runs through her entire work.
Thekla Kellmann's drawings show women in their purest form, nudity as the courage to be sensitive, to show oneself as one is.
The depiction of the unclothed woman as a sign of female rebellion, of not letting anyone tell you how to be and what to do.
Her work deals with the beauty of pristine nature and the ever-increasing pace of change.
"My art is the constant search for myself.
No matter where I am, I see an infinite number of images and my mind only rests when I sit in front of a canvas with a paintbrush.
Painting is my peace."
